Little FAT Me

I work full time and I barely have time to breathe. In 2005 hurricane Katrina rearranged my life, since then I have gained roughly 80-90 pounds. I believe that it started in depression and became an addiction. I have started and failed many diets and then decided that MAYBE if I combine diet and exercise with blogging and shopping I might be able to find success. This is the story of 2010 and my struggle to rise above addiction, pain, depression and fat.

Weekly Meeting (Wk 57)

Down 1.6 – total loss 110.3!
I decided to raise my “goal” weight to 140, for paperwork only. I actually still intend to stop in the 125 range. Thing is I recently decided to focus more on my body and hearing myself and respecting the fact that I am MUCH smaller that I was and that now calories are needed in a different way. I don’t have the massive reserves or the extra to play with. Anyway I made the decision ti actively aim for half to a pound a week. So I raised my goal weight so I could make lifetime and hopefully start on my way to being a leader and to being FREE!!!

Week 4; # 3

Tonight I Zumba-ed at the studio my instructor opened in a neighboring town. I had to work late, so I went with in and instead of rushing home I went to the studio near work. I wish I would have been at home, I missed my song. Boo.

Seriously, how far have we come together? I mean - a year and a half ago I start a blog about being fat and maybe changing it. A teeny bit over a year ago I took myself, and this blog, along to a Weight Watchers meeting. In September of 2010 I made a few YouTube videos. In October I met the first, and one of the dearest, of my YouTube weight loss community (WLC) friends. In November I started running, in December I fit into the most darling dress. At the end of February I took a life changing Zumba class. In April I completed a 10K in LESS than an hour and a half. Uh, I also got married! May came and brought the loss of 100 pounds! Here we are, half way through June, and I am posting the 1,000th post! Still going strong, still happy to be here, still more and more excited every day!
Thanks for being a part of this my little lovelies! You all are so awesome I swoon!

Week 3, # 1 & 2

1 – Zumba. I am LOVING it. A part of me keeps thinking about giving up the gym. I love to run. I need to start running out doors so that I can make a more informed decision.
2 – Walk/jog. I went to the gym today and had every idea to run, but listening to my body and being UNWILLING to push to maximum at the rick of working out the rest of the week caused me to jog! I also let it go at 51 minutes. It sucks to not preform as I know I can, but sucks worse to push to hard and be stuck the rest of the week!

Week 2, # 3

Girl, my amazing 43things app won’t work! Grrr! Stomp!
Last week, Wednesday, an AWESOME Zumba! Hell to the yeah!

The annual crawfish boil: 2011

I started prepping for work's crawfish boil by doing A LOT of online research and found that this information was about what everyone agreed on: (While calories are not too bad, not bad at all really, check out the Sodium!)

The average serving of crawfish at a boil is roughly three to five times what is picture below. Most people eat even more.

I took my food scale and measured out one pound of crawfish.

I avoided the corn and potatoes and sausage that accompanies the crawfish in their tasty death bath. The potatoes are usually my "thing" but I was truly satisfied to just munch on my craw daddies.
I would usually have my wife pick them for me, but felt I would enjoy them and feel more satisfied if I did the dirty work myself. I was right. :)

Here are some other pictures, sorry for the poor quality I had my iPhone in a plastic baggy to save it from crawfish gunk!

In the end they ran out of crawfish and had to have more delivered. Over 265 pounds of the little critters were consumed! I had 16 crawfish, 7 shrimp and 10 mushrooms! Thank you very much! :)

Sh*t I didnt eat:

We had a crawfish boil at work yesterday (more on that later!) I had some crawfish, shrimp and mushrooms but I left behind the brownies, corn and potatos! OMG the potatoes are my favorite!

Week 2, # 1 & 2

  1. 1 – Zumba Saturday. A real, good, JUST right workout for how I was feeling. Yay!
  2. 2 – OKAY, I know that the middle of a fibro flare up is not the time to push myself, but for my mental health I NEEDED a run. So, I went to the gym and I ran! I ran for an hour straight and I ran pretty fast. Not my fastest by any means, but I got 5.25 miles done in an hour! Not bad!
